Amica Insurance Review

Expert Review:
Many reviewers and customers feel that Amica Mutual Insurance is the best car insurance company these days for a number of reasons. They are known for having outstanding competitive rates, pay their claims promptly and they serve all the United States except Hawaii. J.D. Powers rates the company very high along with the Better Business Bureau. There are a few cons to the company in that they are very selective about whom they want to insure and most of their business is done over the phone with very few local agents

So after all this research who did you end up going with?

I did a comprehensive research on auto insurance. This is a helpful link to know who is the best... Ask questions... Make a table then compare...
You will be surprised... I have asked all auto insurance in my state & online when I was seeking for auto insurance. I had no previous accident, had been insured for more than 12 years, defensive driving schooing.... With all the discounts applied .... I asked the questions to....Geico, state farm, all state, ameriprise, traveler, safe co., nationwide, progressive, esurance, genereal, erie, electric, liberty mutual, insure me, net quote, metlife
Amica is on top 3 with the lowest premium. However, when I asked what conditions will increase my premium. Almost any incident regardless who is at fault will result in a premium increase yearly. This is apart from the usual increase due to inflation. So I suggest ask the same question so you won't be surprise when you file a claim...

1. there discount if nonsmoker; pleasure use; not mainly work…Is
2. Benefit for loyalty? How long?
3. Is there a way to lower your premiums without lowering coverage?
4. Upgrades covered?
5. What's your "forgiveness" quotient?
This includes the "claims cost ceiling" - the dollar amount that the company uses to determine when they will raise your premiums. For instance, some companies will raise your premium as much as 30% if you file a claim in excess of just $400. Stick with companies that have high claim ceilings of $2,000 or more.
Also ask about their policy for raising your premiums if you get a ticket. Don't go with any company that will increase your premiums after just one speeding ticket or moving violation (which almost all of us get at some point in our lives!). You shouldn't have to pay higher premiums for one mistake

6. What is covered ? What is not covered?
Surprisingly, some insurance companies apply the deductible to the value of the policy, not the claim. On a home that has been insured for $100,000 with a 20% deductible, most consumers would expect the insurance company to pay 20% of the damages. If those damages were $10,000 the consumer would pay $2,000 and the insurance company $8,000, right?

The answer is no; not if the deductible is applied to the value of the
policy. If that's the case then the insurer would only pay after the
consumer has paid the first $20,000 in damages.

7. What are your procedures for renewing policies and raising premiums?

Some policies are renewed by the insured. Others are automatically renewed
by the insurance company and the premiums can be raised automatically for
any reason

8. Do you have guaranteed-renewable policy with a premium guarantee?

9. If I need new parts for my car, will my insurer pay for original
manufacturer parts?

10. If my car gets totalled, how much will insurance pay to cover the cost?

11. What is the average time it takes to have a claim resolved?

12. If a family member moves into or out of my household, how will that
affect insurance coverage under my policy?

15. Is there a way to lower your premiums without lowering coverage?

16. Are "Safety" Upgrades covered?( antitheft improvement, addition of front & back-up sensor, autodimming mirror, foglights)

17. Is there 24-hour support, in case I have an accident at 3 a.m.?
18. Are there locally available adjusters?
19. How long will it take after my accident for an adjuster to view my car and get me an estimate?
20. Are there auto body shops in my area that are pre-approved to work with my insurance company?
